Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Ricoh IM C320F is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You run a home office or a small team of 1-8 people that needs A4 color print/copy/scan/fax in one box.
  • You print 500-2,500 pages a month and want a true desktop footprint (16 inches wide, 65 lb — fits on a credenza).
  • You want Ricoh quality at the entry-level price point — same 1200 dpi engine, smaller chassis, smaller panel.
  • You need fax built in (the F suffix) for legal, medical, or insurance workflows that still rely on it.
  • You want to plug it in and walk away — Always Current Technology handles security patches automatically.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You print up to 4,000 pages a month — the duty cycle is rated to 50,000 but Ricoh's recommended sweet spot is closer to 2,000.
  • You want a bigger touchscreen — the 7" panel is fine but doesn't run the full Smart Operation Panel app library that the 10.1" gets on the IM C300F.
  • You need wireless — Wi-Fi/NFC is an optional interface unit, not standard, so add ~$200 for the kit.
  • You're upgrading from a Brother MFC-L8900 or HP LaserJet Pro — operators adapt to the Ricoh panel quickly because it's smaller and simpler than the 10.1" units.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You print more than 5,000 pages a month — the smaller chassis means you'll be replacing toner often. Get the IM C300F or IM C400F.
  • You need 11x17 (tabloid) — this is A4/legal only.
  • You scan 100+ pages a day in big batches — the 100-sheet ADF is fine for occasional stacks but a workgroup scanner like the IM C3010 is better suited.
  • You don't have a Ricoh dealer — toner is dealer-channel only, not big-box retail.
  • You want Ricoh's enterprise Smart Operation Panel — the 7" panel here is the simplified version. Step up to IM C300F for the 10.1".
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Ricoh IM C320F is Ricoh's entry-level desktop A4 color laser multifunction, built for home offices and small teams (1-8 users) that want Ricoh's print engine without the floor-standing footprint or 10.1" Smart Operation Panel of the IM C300F. It prints and copies up to 32 ppm in both black and color at 1200 x 1200 dpi, scans through a 100-sheet single-pass duplex ADF, and is rated for a 50,000-page monthly duty cycle (Ricoh's sweet spot for this class is around 2,000 pages/month). Standard paper capacity is 300 sheets (250-sheet drawer plus 50-sheet bypass), expandable to 1,300 with two optional 500-sheet trays. The 7" color touchscreen is the simplified panel — same logic as the bigger Ricohs but without the full Smart Operation Panel app library. Connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet plus USB standard; Wi-Fi and NFC are optional. Fax is built in (the F suffix), which is the main reason small medical, legal, and insurance offices pick this over a Brother MFC-L8900CDW. The thing buyers regret: ordering it for a 10-person office that turns out to print 4,000 pages a month — at that volume the per-page toner cost gets ugly fast. If you're past 3,000 pages/month, step up to the IM C300F.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

What customers actually say

The 5-star consensus: "it just works"

Small sample size, high signal. The 3 verified reviewers picked this model to replace older inkjets or aging Ricoh machines. Common threads in the feedback:

  • "We got this for our small office about a year ago and it's held up really well. The color output is solid, scanning to email works without much fussing around, and the finishing options have saved us money on outside printing jobs."
  • "Good workhorse machine for our legal office. Print quality is consistent and the duplex is fast. My only complaint is the UI could be more intuitive, took our staff a minute to figure out some of the touch screen menus."
  • "Using this in production at our print shop and it handles the volume we throw at it. Toner costs are reasonable and I haven't had any major jams or breakdowns in two years of daily use."
